Mena Alexandera Suvari is an American actress, model as well as a fashion stylist. Born on 13 February 1979. Shortly after beginning her career as a model, she began acting as a guest on 90's TV shows like Boy Meets World and High Incident. Her first film appearance was on the drama Nowhere. Through her roles as a character in American Beauty - for which she was nominated to receive a BAFTA Award - and American Pie, which garnered more attention from the public and recognition, she was able to move into larger roles. She has appeared with American Pie's Co-Star Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) before starring as the main character for the film Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun the independent drama that aired in 2002, and the action movie Trauma (2004) was the two films she has made her most recent appearances. In 2004, she was a guest in HBO's series Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in for 2005 in the category of Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008 her filmography included Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, the version to The Garden of Eden and numerous other films. She has supported and been an advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation for a number of years.
