Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in America and is an accomplished photographer as well as a journalist. Curry was born in Japan and was raised by an Japanese mother. Her father served as an U.S. Navy sailor. In the aftermath of World War II, her parents began to meet during her father's service in Japan. Because of her father's work as a military officer, they moved a lot. Curry was a high school graduate in Ashland Oregon. When she graduated from University of Oregon, Curry received a bachelor degree in journalism degree in 1978. When she was 22 she became the first female journalist at the station. In Portland, Oregon she was appointed anchor as well as a reporter for KGW NBC's affiliate. Then, four years later, she relocated in Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. Through her tenure of six years with the station she received the award of two Emmy Awards.
